Peritus PR 2022 Reflections: Our Season of Growth

Periversity Growth

Ding Ding! With the world as our classroom last year, the Peritus crew sported our backpacks and committed to lifelong learning to better support our clients. This season of growth was a result of our self-made curriculum coined “Periversity,” a professional development series we kickstarted this year featuring weekly industry presenters and communications workshops.

As a team, we spent more than 5,000 hours on professional development to strengthen our strategic communications approach. This is how Peritus continues to earn a seat at the table and be trusted to help solve some of the biggest issues facing Alabama.

Global Perspectives

Our learning didn’t stop with Periversity. To draw creative inspiration, we embarked on field trips across the world including our firm leadership presenting at The Public Relations Network Conferences (Arizona and Singapore) where we took home global PR awards in media relations and advocacy. PRGN is our international network of 50+ agencies that exchange knowledge, resources and connections for regional impact. Some additional professional development and travel highlights for our team included:

Career Milestones

Speaking of teacher’s pet, let’s give our very own Erin Vogt, APR, a shoutout for achieving her public relations accreditation last fall, making Peritus one of Alabama’s most accredited communications firms. Erin will continue to flex her expertise as a trusted counselor for our clients and teammates focused on advocacy, development, innovation and culture.

Walking the Talk

Part of living out our mission to connect communities is partnering with organizations who are equally passionate about moving our state forward. Accessibility has become a central theme of our public affairs department, led by Elizabeth Paul, through campaigns across health care, innovation and education. In addition to our student focus, we empowered the next generation of leaders with Girls Inc. and helped support Alabama’s treasured trail systems with Alabama Trails Foundation and Freshwater Land Trust

We renewed our dedication to becoming a more diverse and inclusive firm where anyone can bring their skills and passion to advance our mission. Bella Tylicki has helped lead the way with various initiatives including the addition of a diversity statement to our recruitment materials, a team microaggression training and a regular DEI Dialogue series to broaden our perspectives.

Trailblazing Onward

With Casey Stark bringing her MBA to strengthen our operations and Shona Webster continuing to help make our Pepper Place office a home, we can’t wait to see what we accomplish this year.

We appreciate the dedicated mentors and changemakers who have invested and trusted in our firm.

Wishing you an inspiring season of growth in 2023!
