Job Title: Public Relations & Marketing Assistant

Position Type: Paid, 25-40 hours/week 
Duration: Two-four months, but can be expanded for full-time opportunity. The duration of this assistantship and hours worked each week can be negotiated and adjusted based on each applicant’s schedule.

Position Summary 

Our Public Relations & Marketing Assistant will work closely with the Peritus team, particularly supporting day-to-day marketing and brand efforts, to help execute and evaluate integrated campaigns. This role blends public relations, marketing, digital strategy and content creation to support both client needs and firm-wide initiatives. 

This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in agency marketing, brand strategy and integrated communications. 

+ Responsibilities

  • Supports day-to-day marketing and client activities, including research, content development, campaign execution and reporting

  • Assists with developing and executing marketing strategies across Peritus channels

  • Writes and edits content for a variety of platforms, including social media, email newsletters and blogs

  • Helps manage and grow social media presence for Peritus, including content planning, scheduling and performance tracking

  • Supports media relations efforts, including building media lists, drafting pitches and assisting with outreach

  • Assists with email marketing efforts, including drafting newsletters and tracking engagement metrics

  • Conducts research on industry trends, audience insights and competitor activity to inform strategy

  • Maintains strong organization and communication with internal team members to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work

+ Position Requirements and Desired Skills

  • Working towards (or recently earned) a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations and/or marketing.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong grammatical skills and AP Style knowledge.

  • Relevant campaign/intern experience with public relations and/or communications roles.

  • Familiarity with AI tools and platforms and an understanding of how to apply them effectively.

  • Graphic design experience is a plus.

  • Accuracy, attention to detail and strong research and organizational skills.

  • Self-starter, effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
